West Side Story

Last night the whole group and I went out to see the OSU Theater Department's performance of West Side Story. It was fabulous! The dancing was fantastic. However, being a musician, I especially appreciated the music. We were sitting in the second row, so we were right in front of the pit orchestra. I can just imagine sitting down there, in the middle of it all.

Before the show started, we were all looking at our programs. I pointed out to Steph one of my favorite songs from the show, America. He then told me that on the actual music, that because of the 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3 beat that every other measure was different! Imagine directing that! And sure enough, when America was playing the director's arms were changing every measure.

The show was awesome and we all had a great time. (I almost cried at the end!) I can't wait to go out to the theater again.
