Okay, James Dobson, you've lost me. According to Focus on the Family and Dr. James Dobson, Spongebob Squarepants is, as absurd as this sounds, gay. Are these people off their rockers?! Honestly... This is almost as bad as Jerry Falwell's strike at Tinky Winky. I loved how one of the Belief Netter's put it. How can an eight foot androgynous blob with no genitals be gay? Why must these people always have something or someone to strike at? Poor Spongebob...

     Apparently, there was a music video made my the We Are Family Foundation has made a music video featuring not only Spongebob but Arthur, Barney, Bear, Big Bird, Clifford, JoJo and other children's hero cartoon characters to the song "We Are Family". The video was to be sent to millions of elementary schools across the country to "promote tolerance and diversity in America's children". Spongebob is just briefly shown in the video. Focus on the Family claims that the video is promoting gay tolerance and is potentialy brainwashing kids. The assumption that Spongebob Square pants is gay may come from the fact that he is often found holding hands with his starfish friend Patrick. He's a cartoon for Christ's sake! What is it with these right winged conservatives and their dirty, sex obsessed minds? Another bnet friend of mine said, We're the nation that happily trots of to war without a second thought, but gets out (square-shaped) panties in a wad over the sexual orientation of a cartoon sponge who lives in a piece of underwater fruit.
